If you read my What’s on my iPhone? post, you remember me talking about Airbnb. Here’s an app tour and why you should download it ASAP. Click on the first picture to get started.
Here’s the DISCOVER page of Airbnb. There are so many categories to choose from! Or, you can search by location.
For this post, let’s look at Homes of Famous Authors.
Click on the category and see all of the listings. Let’s look at the first one for this example.
Click on the listing, and voila!
Everything is at your fingertips: when to check in and out, house rules, and what happens if you need to cancel.
You can also find out more about the host and contact him or her directly.
And see the location of the listing! If you’re planning a big trip, this is a great feature.
The places available on here are incredible. Here are a few of my favorites, starting with a schoolhouse transformed to a small apartment!
This place is at the top of my list to stay. Located in Atlanta, GA.
What I’m trying to show you is that the possibilities are ENDLESS with this app.
You can really stay anywhere.
…and TA DA! Don’t tell the boyfriend, but THIS is where we are staying this weekend. I know, right? Who am I? Staying in a TIPI! What the hell? I’m putting this picture in to show you what happens when you actually book a place to stay.
After booking, you get a conformation and conversation begins with the host. The crazy thing about the tipi is that it is $20 to rent. Go back and read that again. TWENTY DOLLARS! That’s the minimum, though. Of course when you pay service and cleaning fees, for me it was a total of $41.00, but seriously. Who gets to say they went camping in a tipi? No one.
If you don’t have a smartphone, you can visit the Airbnb site here and it’s identical to the app.
Still confused? Let me help.
